If the child is 7 years old or older, they will have to enroll in OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation adapted for Children).

• Original/Copy of Birth Certificate (issued by the state) • Confirmation Certificate of Godparent (if the Godparent is single) • Matrimony Certificate of Godparent from the Catholic Church (if the Godparent is married) • Verification of Completion of Baptism Preparation Class * We accept classes taken two years or less previously to the celebration date. We also offer our own baptismal classes the first two Tuesdays of each month from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. There are two classes in total. Registration is done only in-person.
Both baptismal classes must be taken.
Both parents & godparents have to take the baptismal class.
Class is offered every first two Tuesdays of the month.
Time: 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The English Baptism Celebration is held every First Sunday of each Month after the Sunday 12:00 p.m. mass.
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early.
If the date for the baptismal class does not fit according to your schedule, parent or the godparent are allowed to take a baptismal class online or at a different parish.
Parent/godparent will have to submit proof at least ONE WEEK before the baptismal date via email at: [email protected].
Exception for taking the baptismal class: parent/godparent has taken a baptismal class 1 year or less before the baptismal date.
Example: Baptism is August 06, 2023, and the Baptismal class was taken July 31, 2022, is still valid.
Parents are asked to call the office at (713) 686-3497 to make sure they meet the entire requirements to baptize.
If the office is missing the birth certificate of your child, baptismal class proof, or the godparents certificate, the baptism date will be rescheduled until all the appropriate documents are received.
